O Christmas Tree Pop Up

At first glance this card appears to be an ordinary Christmas card. But when you open it you realize that it is an amazing Christmas card! How would you like to receive this card in the mail!
We made this card at our last demonstrator meeting. This was my first time trying a pop up die. My friend Mary made it easy with her detailed directions and precutting and embossing the pieces for us. (Thank you Mary!!) It is so amazing to see it in person.

Don't forget, tomorrow is the last day of holiday sales on the Sizzix Big Shot dies and accessories! Click here to order now!

Bitty Treat Box

I made these cute little bitty treat boxes as hostess gifts for my stamp club tonight. They were super quick and simple to make. I ran some bermuda bay through Stampin' Up!'s exclusive Bitty Box & Envelope die and stamped the swirl from Baroque Motifs in bermuda bay on the box. Then I put the box together and used the Lovely Letters Alphabet to personalize the box. I used the two small flowers from the new exclusive Stampin' Up! Flower Folds die to put inside the box and added a little treat to the center.

Altered CD Tin

I had so much fun decorating this cd tin with my Sizzix dies! I used the Sizzix Texturz die on the bashful blue cardstock to create the diamond texture and layered it on some chocolate chip cardstock. Then I used the Flower Layers with Leaf die for the flower in so saffron and barely banana with a brad from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware as an accent in the middle of the flower. I added some chocolate chip double stitched-grosgrain and "for you" from the Great Friend stamp set layered with a certainly celery scalloped oval.

I used the crop-a-dile to punch holes in the top of the tin to thread some chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon through for a handle! Hope you have a great weekend!

Clearly Simple

I'm continuing the orchid opulence, rich razzleberry, old olive color scheme with some printed window sheets today. I simply punched out different size circles and placed them underneath the dandelions, then scalloped the bottom edge and placed some old olive behind the window sheet. I added "thanks" from a sheet of cardstock run through my Big Shot with the new exclusively Stampin' Up! "Many Thanks" sizzlet. Another simple card.

Butterfly Box Tote

When my friend told me about this cute little box that she had heard of using the Sizzix Box #2 die to create, I knew I had to try it . It's super easy to make. I just ran two sheets of orchard opulence through my Big Shot with the Box #2 die, cut of the top side flaps and adhered them together back-to-back. I used the large oval punch to create the handle and some of the new Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper on the box. I added the butterfly from the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and easily punched it out with the new butterfly punch. It tied a little piece of the rich razzleberry polka dot grosgrain ribbon to the top and it's ready to go!

Don't forget - the Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge is on sale for over 60% off this week only! Click here to order!

Gift Jar

I love saving glass jars to decorate and use as gifts.  I washed out this artichoke jar and wrapped some Sweet Always DSP and chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon around it.  I added some more ribbon around the lid and topped the lid with a scallop circle cut with a sizzix die and some more layers of Sweet Always, a scallop and the flower from the Always stamp set.  To complete the gift, I filled it with some yummy chocolate!  So, start saving those glass jars!

A Basket

I've been seeing these cute baskets all over the place and decided it was high time to make one!  The ends of the baskets are cut out with the Baskets & Blooms Big XL Sizzix die.  I trimmed off the perforated edges on each one.  Then I used half a sheet of cardstock (8 1/2" x 5 1/2") for the middle of the box.  I scored it at 2 3/4" from each side with the 8 1/2" side at the top.  Then I scored at 3/8" on each side with the 5 1/2" side at the top to create the flap (after trimming on the score lines) to which I used sticky strip to adhere the ends.

I decorated the basket with some Good Morning Sunshine DSP and some of the flowers from the Baskets & Blooms die that I layered on top of each other and stamped "for you" from the Great Friend stamp set.  I added some scallop circles to the handles and punched the 1 1/4" circle punch in the middle.  Now the box is all ready to hold some cute cards, a set of spa bath gels, or some yummy treats to give away as a gift!

Heart Basket

I've been wanting to make one of these ever since I saw one!  And they are super simple and fun to make!  I started with two die cut Sizzix Petal cards with Walk in the Park DSP.  I folded two flaps to create the bottom and adhered them with sticky strip to a 2 x 5 sheet of the same DSP that I had folded in half.  I attached some ribbon around the bottom for the strap and a chipboard scalloped square inked in craft whisper white with the "friend" stamp from Great friend stamped on the Walk in the Park DSP and the butterfly stamped in baja breeze and trimmed to place on the square.  Place some goodies or a gift inside and this would be perfect for Mother's Day!

Butterflies & Chocolate in the Park

I had so much fun creating the projects for this month's stamp club meeting!  We made a Push/Pull or Double Slider Card and a cute matchbox with chocolate nuggets inside!
The directions for the card are here.  I stamped the leaves onto the DSP to add some more color.  Then I ran some Walk in the Park DSP and some baja breeze through the Sizzix with the new exclusive Stampin' Up! Butterflies die.  I put the smaller butterfly through the Sizzix again with the dotted texture plate and added three dots of glitter glue that I made by mixing crystal effects with dazzling diamonds glitter.

Here is what the card looks like with the sliders pulled out.  Everyone loved sliding them in and out, in and out!
For the little matchbox, I ran some more Walk in the Park DSP and some of the medium weight window sheets through the Sizzix with the Matchbox die.  Then, we stamped the Polka Dot background with some white staz-on on the window sheet and wrapped some of the beautiful Whisper White Organza Ribbon around it. We added "celebrate" from the Matchbox Messages stamp set layered with some baja breeze that I also ran through the Matchbox die.  Finally, we wrapped the chocolate nuggets with the Walk in the Park DSP and placed them in the box!

Recipe:
Stamps: Great Friend, Matchbox Messages, Polka Dot Background
Paper: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Walk in the Park DSP
Ink:  Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, White Staz-On
Dies:  Butterflies Die, Matchbox Die
Accessories:  Word Window Punch, 1/2 circle punch, Medium Window Sheets, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds, dimensionals, glue dots, sticky strip

Stay tuned for tomorrow's post with more tips on fun ways to use Crystal Effects!

Celebrate Basic Gray!

I'm lovin' the new Basic Gray color.  Ok, it's not that new, but I had been putting off getting it for a while until I saw someone use it instead of Basic Black and I really liked what I saw!  The layout of this card was inspired by Mary.  I really liked the clean crisp monochromatic look of the card.

I also really wanted to try out the new grommets from the Occasions mini catalog.  They are such a fun accent to add to your card!  I simply placed the paper on the soft pad of the mat pack and pushed the grommet through the paper and then folded the tines onto the back of the paper.

I added two 5-petal flowers on the back and a dimensional as well.  I used the new Matchbox Messages from the Occasions mini catalog as well as the Sizzix Matchbox Die.

Recipe:
Stamps: Matchbox Messages
Paper: Basic Gray, Walk in the Park DSP, Urban Oasis DSP
Ink:  Basic Gray
Sizzix Dies: Matchbox Die
Accessories:  Large White Grommet, 5-petal flower punch, brads

Don't forget: if you order $40 from the Occasions Mini catalog this month, you get your choice of any item on the "Under $10" page at the back of the catalog!

Friends Tags & Matchbox

I'm having so much fun with all the goodies from the Occasions Mini Catalog!  I love the tag on page 17, so I created some of my own.  I used the new Basic Small Grommets by punching holes with my 1/4" circle handheld punch and then inserting the grommet and pressing the tines down on the backside.  I stamped for you and punched it out with the new scallop oval punch (love it!) and I used the coordinating the "friend"  and outline stamp from the Great Friend stamp set that fit in one of the tags cut out of the Matchbox Die.  I added some Summer Love rub-ons and satin kiwi kiss/very vanilla ribbon as a finishing touch.

I made this cute matchbox by running some textured kiwi kiss paper through the new Matchbox Bigz XL Die and then punched a window with the curly label punch in the top.  I had fun picking out some Summer rub-ons and put some on the box, one on the window, one on the tag and then the bird and flower too.  I'll fill this up with some candy and it will be all ready to give away!

Celebrating a New Look!!

Sale-a-bration may be over, but I'm still celebrating!   Do you like the new look of my blog? Thanks so much to Michelle Laycock at Laycock Designs for this fabulous new design!  To celebrate, I'm offering some blog candy!

Included is one of my favorite sale-a-bration sets, Yummy, a Pack of 6x6 Prints Designer Paper and a cute box of chocolates made with the new Thick Window Sheets that are now available in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

I used the Sizzix Box #2 die to create this cute box.  The Thick Window Sheet went through the die with no problems and was easy to fold into the box shape!  I used the Summer Love Rub-Ons from the Occasions Mini Catalog and some striped pink grograin ribbon around the box!

To win the blog candy, please leave a comment telling me what your favorite Stampin' Up! product is and why.  I will randomly pick a winner on Monday morning, April 6th

Plum Manhattan Flower

Pictures just do not do this card justice.  The Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die creates the most beautiful impressions I've ever seen!  Just really "Ooo Ahh" stunning!  This card was so easy to create.  I just placed my Perfect Plum cardstock in the Manhattan Flower Textured Die folder and ran it through my Big Shot.  Viola!  Beauty!

I added some white striped satin organza ribbon and the "Best Wishes" stamp from the new Oval All stamp set from the Occasions mini catalog and layered it on a scalloped oval punched piece of pale plum.  I must say that I've never met a Stampin' Up! punch I haven't liked, and that I love this new scallop oval punch!
