Time to Bloom

Here is another card from the catalog using crushed curry, soft suede and melon mambo. I scalloped the crushed curry and then tore some very vanilla across the top and placed it on the crushed curry. I used Matchbox Messages to frame the flower from It's Time to Bloom and added a little certainly celery medallion with a dimensional.

Butterfly on a Cottage Wall

I still can't get away from this beautiful Cottage Wall DSP. I loved this card by Mary, so I tweaked it a little to make it my own. I used the "plate" (doesn't it look like a fancy plate?) stamp from the Gallery stamp set and punched out the sentiment from Matchbox Messages stamp set to place in the middle. I stamped the butterfly on the Cottage Wall DSP and then punched it out with the butterfly punch (love it!). I loved Mary's idea of stamping a flower, then punching it out with the 1/2" circle punch and placing it on our new large brads.

Happy Stamping!

Butterflies & Chocolate in the Park

I had so much fun creating the projects for this month's stamp club meeting!  We made a Push/Pull or Double Slider Card and a cute matchbox with chocolate nuggets inside!
The directions for the card are here.  I stamped the leaves onto the DSP to add some more color.  Then I ran some Walk in the Park DSP and some baja breeze through the Sizzix with the new exclusive Stampin' Up! Butterflies die.  I put the smaller butterfly through the Sizzix again with the dotted texture plate and added three dots of glitter glue that I made by mixing crystal effects with dazzling diamonds glitter.

Here is what the card looks like with the sliders pulled out.  Everyone loved sliding them in and out, in and out!
For the little matchbox, I ran some more Walk in the Park DSP and some of the medium weight window sheets through the Sizzix with the Matchbox die.  Then, we stamped the Polka Dot background with some white staz-on on the window sheet and wrapped some of the beautiful Whisper White Organza Ribbon around it. We added "celebrate" from the Matchbox Messages stamp set layered with some baja breeze that I also ran through the Matchbox die.  Finally, we wrapped the chocolate nuggets with the Walk in the Park DSP and placed them in the box!

Recipe:
Stamps: Great Friend, Matchbox Messages, Polka Dot Background
Paper: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Walk in the Park DSP
Ink:  Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, White Staz-On
Dies:  Butterflies Die, Matchbox Die
Accessories:  Word Window Punch, 1/2 circle punch, Medium Window Sheets, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds, dimensionals, glue dots, sticky strip

Stay tuned for tomorrow's post with more tips on fun ways to use Crystal Effects!

Celebrate Basic Gray!

I'm lovin' the new Basic Gray color.  Ok, it's not that new, but I had been putting off getting it for a while until I saw someone use it instead of Basic Black and I really liked what I saw!  The layout of this card was inspired by Mary.  I really liked the clean crisp monochromatic look of the card.

I also really wanted to try out the new grommets from the Occasions mini catalog.  They are such a fun accent to add to your card!  I simply placed the paper on the soft pad of the mat pack and pushed the grommet through the paper and then folded the tines onto the back of the paper.

I added two 5-petal flowers on the back and a dimensional as well.  I used the new Matchbox Messages from the Occasions mini catalog as well as the Sizzix Matchbox Die.

Recipe:
Stamps: Matchbox Messages
Paper: Basic Gray, Walk in the Park DSP, Urban Oasis DSP
Ink:  Basic Gray
Sizzix Dies: Matchbox Die
Accessories:  Large White Grommet, 5-petal flower punch, brads

Don't forget: if you order $40 from the Occasions Mini catalog this month, you get your choice of any item on the "Under $10" page at the back of the catalog!
