What do Teal Pumpkins Mean?

I just learned that if you put a teal pumpkin on your porch it means that you have allergy-free treats to share!  I've been seeing teal pumpkins at different stores.  Have you seen them?  Now I wonder what it means when you give someone a card with teal pumpkins?  Should I include some allergy-free treats?
