Winter Woods Card

Growing up we had a fake Christmas tree that we put together every year.  I longed for a real tree but my parents thought it was too messy.  So when I got married and we moved into our first home, I was so excited to get a real Christmas tree.  My husband and I went to the Christmas tree lot and we looked for the fullest, greenest Christmas tree we could find!  We took it home and decorated it with the lights and ornaments my parents had given me that we used to put on the fake tree all those years.  I would smile every time I walked into the room and smelled the fresh pine smell!

Not surprisingly when I saw the Winter Woods stamp set, I eagerly purchased it and awaited its arrival!  The coordinating in the Woods framelits dies allow you to create a full 3D Christmas tree!  I smile every time I look at this card.

I used shimmer paper, (which is great for watercoloring) Pool Party ink, and my aquapainter to create a pretty blue sky background for the Christmas trees.  I stamped the large tree twice and cut one out with the large tree framelit and the other tree with the 3D framelit and placed it on top of the large tree.  I stamped the other tree from the Rooted in Nature stamp set (it coordinates perfectly with the Winter Woods stamp set!)

I used the Decorative ribbon punch for the small scalloped top and bottom for the sentiment and embossed the sentiment in gold.

This card was one of the make-n-takes at my Holiday Catalog Launch Party and my ladies loved making it.
