Blog Candy

As promised, I have some blog candy! It looks like everyone really liked this box and cards, so I thought I would offer one as blog candy. Nicole even wants to feature it as a 3D demo challenge on splitcoast!

I still need some help with lighting for my pictures. So if you would like to win this cute box, please leave me a comment with a tip on how to use better lighting for taking pictures of cards and projects.

Here are all of the cards that are in the box. I will pick a winner on Friday, so good luck! Keep checking back for more sneak peeks this week!

Hit the little tulip button on your camera, remove the flash, and make sure light is in front of card not behind it. Sorry, these are probably tips you already know

Am I first? How generous of you. I love the colors! My only suggestion is to use a white oak tag behind the cards. I too have trouble taking good photos. Thanks for the chance to win! Love your blog!!

My photos aren't that great, so I am looking forward to reading the tips that other's share. I have been taking my photos outside since it has warmed up and is nice and sunny. Thanks for an opportunity to win a great gift!

Hi,
when I photograph my cards and scrapbooks,I like to use indirect natural lighting and reflected light from an adjustable lamp. I also use my flash on my camera. I like to use a light colored background, too. Hope this may help out.

I'm not that great but my hubby showed my how to use Photoshop and that helps TONS with my photos. I use either the Adjust AUTO LEVELS which 9 times out of 10 works great. If not, then I'll use the Adjust BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST and that will work!

I know a lot of people use lightboxes but I'd rather spend that money on stamps!!

This is an adorable box Elaine and any girl would be lucky to win it! Hopefully that'll be me!!

The above link is for photographing jewelry, but lots of the tips would work for anything you want to photograph. Hope you get some great ideas.

I uses 2 12 x 12 white card, one sheet behind & one underneath the card, looks like a box effect,i make sure the light is infront of the card, turn off the flash & you get a fantastic real image of your card.It is the best way to take them as the white balances the colours in the card.If your taking pics of a white card use a bright coloured paper & you will get the same results.
Hope this helps

to make good photo of a card, I use white cardstock box, and put card into it, than make photo, or make photo near window

I think indirect natural light is best. I'm still working on my photos, but this gives me the best results to far.

Beautiful box & cards!

As for tips on lighting, I try to take pictures outside when I can rather than indoors with artificial lighting. If I do take pictures indoors, I try not to have overhead lighting shining on the project. Another tip, I always try to have just my project in the picture, without anything else taking away from it.

Thanks for offering this awesome treat!

Fabulous blog candy! What a great gift set, it's lovely. :)

When I take photos, I turn on all the lights in my kitchen, including the under cabinet lights, then I place my project on two white cnavas boards, one under and one behind the project. Then I take the photo. I would like to one day make a light box, but for now this works. :)

That box is awesome, great work! I too would agree with no flash, and use something white behind the item. I have an Ott light and I try to put that where the light is facing what I am taking a photo of. It's hard to get good photo's though! Good luck!

Thanks for the blog candy. Some of my friends swear by the OTT lamp. I just use natural light.

Wow, these are awesome! If and when the sun is shining, it works best for me to have my items displayed in the sunlight somehow. I know this cannot always be done since as we all know the sun does not shine all the time but if at all possible that is best thing that has worked for me.

I'm so inept with the lighting issue, but I get the best results when I use outside light. That's probably not anything you don't already know and I wish I could help otherwise.
Beautiful box and cards! You don't need great light when your work is this beautiful!
Thanks for sharing so generously!
