Card File Holders

We made these great Card File Holders at our meeting last month.  They are the perfect size to hold cards!  Check out the tutorial on Blythe's blog.  We used the Bella Rose DSP with Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette Textured Cardstocks and the small and large oval punches to create the labels.  I hope you enjoy this fun and easy project to help organize your cards!

Spring Fiesta Basket

To help our local school raise much needed funds, I made this basket for the silent auction at the Spring Fiesta Fundraising Event this Saturday.  I included 10 thank you cards, 10 birthday cards, 12 gift tags using the Cute & Curly stamps and Curly label punch, the Yummy stamp set, a Notepad with a coordinating pen, a Fantasy box, and a cute little box of treats.

Here is everything out of the basket.

Here is the fantasy box.  It opens up to reveal 4 boxes inside!

Here are the tags I made from the Cute & Curly stamp set and punched out with the Curly Label punch.

And finally, here is the little treat box that I made with the Sizzix Box #2 die.  I hope the basket gets some high bids!

Plum Manhattan Flower

Pictures just do not do this card justice.  The Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die creates the most beautiful impressions I've ever seen!  Just really "Ooo Ahh" stunning!  This card was so easy to create.  I just placed my Perfect Plum cardstock in the Manhattan Flower Textured Die folder and ran it through my Big Shot.  Viola!  Beauty!

I added some white striped satin organza ribbon and the "Best Wishes" stamp from the new Oval All stamp set from the Occasions mini catalog and layered it on a scalloped oval punched piece of pale plum.  I must say that I've never met a Stampin' Up! punch I haven't liked, and that I love this new scallop oval punch!

Lucky Ducky!

My Stamp Club met tonight and made this card.  We used the Duck from the Wagon Full of Fun set that is currently available to preorder now from the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  We stamped the lucky duck in Staz-on on Stampin' Up!'s great watercolor paper.  I recommend using Staz-on when watercoloring so that the outline doesn't bleed when you color it in.  And Stampin' Up!'s watercolor paper is a must.  It helps making blending the layers of colors much easier and look way nicer than using Whisper White cardstock.

Then we used aquapainters to color the duck.  We used the so saffron grosgrain ribbon and stamped "Lucky Duck!" and punched it out with the large oval punch and layered it on the Designer Label Punch.

Recipe:
Stamps:  Wagon Full of Fun (Pre-order from Occasions Mini Catalog)
Paper: Delicate Dots (Sale-a-bration), Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Watercolor Paper
Ink:  Basic Gray, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories:  Ticket corner Punch, Large Oval Punch, Designer Label Punch, So Saffron Grosgrain

Tope Note Box

The top note die is still my favorite!  Look at this cute little box you can make using the top note die!  I started by cutting two top note pieces out of chipboard and then four out of the Candy Lane DSP.  I used the tombow multi-purpose glue to adhere the dsp onto both sides of the chipboard and set them aside to dry.

To make the box I used one piece of 6 1/2" x 5 1/2" close to cocoa cardstock scored at 1 1/2" on each side for the bottom, and one piece of 4 5/8" x 3 5/8" close to cocoa cardstock scored at 1/2" on each side for the top box.  To make the box, simply cut the score mark one one side in each corner and then fold the box together.

On the top of the box, I placed an oval cut out with the new Sizzix scallop oval die and some flowers from the Flower Daises #2 die in pink pirouette and riding hood red and layered them on top of each other with a red rhinestone brad in the middle.   Have fun making them!

Dry Embossed Eastern Blooms

I decided to pull out my light table and do a little dry embossing this week.  And I love how the Floral Frenzy Classy Brass template coordinates so perfectly with the Eastern Blooms stamp set!  I stamped the three flowers and then embossed each of them and then mounted them on a a scalloped square punched out of pacific point.

I used the Dots background to add some texture the the next layer, and some textured kiwi kiss cardstock for the next layer.  I embossed little flowers across the bottom of the card as well.  What do you think?

Recipe:
Stamps:  Eastern Blooms
Paper:  Kiwi Kiss textured cardstock, Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red
Ink:  Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red
Accessories:  Floral Frenzy classy brass template, stylus, light table

Urban Butterfly

I'm so enchanted with these beautiful butterflies from Stampin' Up!'s exclusive new Sizzix die!  I paired them with the just as beautiful Urban Garden DSP.  I got the inspiration and layout from this beautiful card by Mary.  I love the idea of adding texture to the butterfly by running it throught he Big Shot with the dots textured plate, and I added some stickles down the middle of the butterfly too.

Recipe:
Paper:  Kiwi Kiss, Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Urban Garden DSP
Accessories:  Beautiful Butterflies Stampin' Up! Sizzix Die, Stampin' Up! Backgrounds Texturz Plates, Basic Gray Taffeta ribbon, stickles

Sketch & Color Challenge Combo

I combined this week's sketch and color challenge to create this card.  I had to add some ribbon  to break up all the vertical lines.  I ran some kiwi kiss through my Big Shot with the dotted textured plate first.  Then I colored the flowers from the Eastern Blooms set with pink passion, kiwi kiss and chocolate chip to create the next layer.  I added two strips of dsp from Urban Garden dsp and then stamped the large flower in pink passion.  I embossed the flower and added some stickles to the center of the flower.

Recipe:
Stamps: Eastern Blooms
Paper: Urban Garden, Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Passion
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Passion
Accessories: Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon, stickles, Dots Textured Plate, Floral Frenzy classy brass template

Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die

I'm so excited that the Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die (114517, $7.95) is now available to order!  It coordinates with Stampin' Up!'s Manhattan Collection, which I love!

It is similar to a texture pad in that it does not cut, but creates an embossed image.  It looks like a clear folder that you place a standard card front into and roll it through the Big Shot with standard cutting pads and the multi-purpose platform.
