Another Box

I just can't get enough of these boxes!  I made another one with the Parisian Breeze Textured Cardstock weight DSP.  Did you notice that on page 158 of the catalog all the DSP is textured cardstock?  And the Rockability DSP has printed glossy designs on each sheet!

For this box I used the Wide Oval punch to create a little window so you can see the treats inside!  I used the coordinating Friends 24-7 stamp set for the scallop circle tag.

I just got my Occasions Mini Catalog today and I'm so excited to share that Stampin' Up! is going to be selling Window Sheets again like the one I used to create the window in this box.  They will sell a medium weight and a thick weight.  I'm so excited to create see-through boxes with the thick weight and use the new color rub-ons on them!!

Top Note Purse Box

Here is the project that we made last night at my first stamp club meeting.  A Top Note Purse!  The idea for this purse came from Kimberly and the directions are here on her blog.  I added a little ribbon strap to the top to make it into a purse.

We used the Always stamp set with the Always in Bloom wheel and Sweet Always DSP.  I cut out all the tags from the Lots of Tags Sizzlits.  I love how the tag on the card on the left perfectly coordinates with the Wide Oval punch.  We layered another one of the tags on top and stamped "Everything" on it.  The middle card also uses the Oval tag with the Wide Oval punch and the small long tag as well.  For the third card, we stamped the "a" on some whisper white and mounted it to the chocolate chip "bubble" tag.  Then we added a build a brad to the middle of the "a."  It makes a fun little card holder or gift bag!

Bella Rose with Scalloped Oval

I was trying to figure out how to use the new Oval Scallop Sizzix die cut on a card and this is what I came up with.  I started with some Kiwi Kiss and the Bella Toile background.  Then, I used the Bella Rose DSP and ran it through the polka dot Texturz plate.  I stamped the roses and leaves on the same pink dsp from Bella Rose and cut them out to pop them up.  I added some ribbon and the "thank you" from the set as well.

I'm getting ready for my first Stamp Club Meeting tonight, so I'll post our projects that we make tomorrow.  I'll give you a teaser:  It uses the Top Note die to create an adorable "P _ _ _ _."

Scallop Envelope Purses

I saw these cute, cute, CUTE purses on my friend, Lynn's blog and had to go make them immediately the cuteness was so strong!  Check out her blog for great pictures on how to make this cute purse!  I decided to make some to give to friends.  I used the Candy Lane DSP and the Love You Much set.  I will definitely be making more of these!

Recipe:
Stamps:  Love You Much
Paper:  Candy Lane DSP, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Accessories:  Scallop envelope die, scallop and circle punches

Sale-a-bration Samples

I really love all the great samples in the Sale-a-bration catalog, so I recreated some of them and used the layouts for others.  I love the Polka Dot Punches set.  It's so cute and easy to make great cards with its stamps and coordinating punches!  I love not having to cut out flowers and hearts!
Of course the new so saffron ribbon and certainly celery poly-twill are must haves.  They are so beautiful!

I finally used one of the hat pins from the Pretties Kit for this card.  I think it adds a nice finish to this card.
It took me a couple of tries to make the flower for this card but I finally figured out that using a 1" x 12" strip and scoring it every 3/8" works the best.

And finally, this is the card we made last week.  I used the layout from a card in the Sale-a-bration catalog, but changed the paper and colors.

Elegant Thank You

Here is another card that made using the Sizzix Texturz Plates.  It's so fun to run them through the Big Shot and then feel the cool textures!  I also love this new stamp, Elegant Thank You.  It's one of the "Items under $10" in the very back of the catalog.  It's a collection of stamps and notecard sets that you can purchase individually.  I love simple cards.  I love how they look and how easy they are to put together!  Thanks for stopping by!

True Friend Card

As soon as I saw the butterfly in Simple Friendship in the new catalog,  I knew I had to get it!  I love the butterfly!  I also had to get all the new Sizzix texture plates.  It's hard to tell from this picture, but I used the swirl texture on the baja breeze.  It adds a lovely texture and dimension to the card.

Recipe:
Stamps: Simple Friendship
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery
Accessories:  Sizzix Texturz Plate

Urban Garden Cards

I love the way these cards turned out.  I used the Urban Garden DSP and Fifth Avenue Floral for the card on the right.  I embossed "thanks" in vanilla on the basic gray and added some vanilla hodgepodge hardware to make it stand out.

As I was playing with the card I reversed the paper and that's how I came up with the card on the left.

I can't wait for the new coordinating texture plate for the Fifth Avenue Floral comes out on March 1st!  I think it is beautiful and will make some really extraordinary cards!

More Yummy Ideas

The Yummy sale-a-bration set is my favorite!  I love how one of the stamps perfectly coordinates with the top note die.  I loved all the samples in the sale-a-bration catalog, so I recreated a lot of them.

The first one I tried was this cute top note gift card holder.  I just cut out two top note dies and glued the edges together to make a pocket for the gift card or note.  Then I stamped the "little something" stamp and added some ribbon, a thin celery belly band, and a flower from the trio flower punch and a half pearl from the pretties kit.

I also used the same stamp on the box that I cut out with the new Sizzix Box XL die.  I love these little boxes!  They are soo cute!

But if you're looking for something even easier to put together for Valentine's Day, these little top note treat holders are perfect!  I used the Candy Lane DSP and top note die with the Yummy sale-a-bration set to quickly and easily put these candy bags together.  Great for the kids' classes, teachers, co-workers, friends and family too!

So don's miss out on this and the other great sale-a-bration sets available now for free with each $50 purchase!  Check it out and order online on my website here!

Yummy Treat Box

I love these little boxes you can make from the new Sizzix die!!  They fit the little hershey's nuggets perfectly!  I used the Yummy sale-a-bration stamp and the Candy Lane DSP to embellish this cute little box.  I wrapped the nuggets with the Candy Lane DSP and tied some riding hood red taffeta ribbon around them.  It was hard not to eat them while I was wrapping.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

My Stamping Area

I somewhat organized my stamping area and so I thought I would take some pictures before it got disorganized again.  Above is my stamping desk and shelves, all from IKEA.  I used IKEA's wood dvd holders to hold my ink pads,  IKEA's pot holder racks for my punches, and IKEA baskets for other stamping items.  I have two files cabinets under my desk, one for paper and the other for forms, magazines, and ideas.  To the right of my desk is my cutting area where I have my paper cutter and more baskets holding envelopes, chipboard, reinkers, and paper scraps.

And this is my craft closet.  I got these great bookshelves at IKEA and the height extensions since we have high ceilings in the room.  I have all my stamps, samples, catalogs, paper, and other craft items stored in my closet.

I used to have a little desk in the closet that I would stamp on.  It started to get a little bit too crowded in there so I had to come out of the closet so I could store more stuff in there.  :)

So now I have my play area, and my kids have the other half of the room as their play area.  No pictures of that area since it's hardly ever organized, but it's all from IKEA too (bookshelves, desk, chairs...).

Thanks for checking out my stamp area!

Valentine's Day Treat Cylinder

I saw this great Valentine's Day Treat Cylinder on Dianne's website here and decided to try them out. The following pictures and directions are hers from her blog:

Start with two bottoms from the Sizzix Baskets & Blooms die.  Then, cut a piece of Acetate (also called a transparency or a window sheet), to 6 1/4" wide x 5" tall.  They are available at your local office supply store. They are cover weight sheets for reports. (8 1/2 x 11)

Place a piece of sticky tape on one side (5" long) The piece will make a cylinder approx 6" in circumference. The cylinder will flex as you place the top/bottom on. Bend the bottom so it will fold over the edges of the tube.

Cut a strip of cardstock 1" x 6 1/2". Use the scallop border punch along the edge, and then sticky tape along the edge (non scalloped edge)

Fill the cylinder with candy, then punch holes on the sides of the cylinder and the top to thread the ribbon through.  I added a scallop punched piece on the top and some hearts from the heart to heart punch all around the cylinder.

Recipe:
Stamps:  Love You Much
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette
Accessories:  Scallop edge punch, scallop punch, circle punch, heart to heart punch, ribbon
